Netflix’s hit series Bridgerton showcases life in the 1800s with numerous familiar filming locations.
Based on Julia Quinn’s book series, each season of Bridgerton focuses on a different member of the titular family as they attempt to find love in 19th-century London. The Netflix show is expected to have eight seasons based on the eight novels written by Quinn about each Bridgerton sibling.
Four seasons in, Bridgerton has relied on key areas in England to serve as the backdrop. Royal Crescent, Reform Club and The Holburne Museum have been featured in addition to Hatfield House, which served as the exterior of the Featheringtons’ home.
Lancaster House Bridgerton was featured in season 2 scenes as Queen Charlotte’s (Golda Rosheuvel) residence while St. James Church was a setting for a wedding. The Abbey Deli, meanwhile, might look familiar after it served as the dress shop.

In season 1, Castle Howard was a major location while Loseley Park and Windsor Great Park played a role in season 2. Wilton House, Kingston Bagpuize House and Ranger’s House have also made numerous appearances on the show.
Despite being titled Bridgerton, the show hasn’t only focused on the fictional family. Characters such as the Featheringtons, Queen Charlotte and Lady Danbury (Adjoa Andoh) have been getting plenty of screen time, which resulted in glimpses of numerous onscreen residences that are actual mansions, courtyards, museums and churches viewers can visit in real life.
Executive producer Shonda Rhimes revealed in June 2024 how Bridgerton’s success has added over a quarter of a billion pounds (approximately $317 million) to the U.K. economy since the show debuted in December 2020.
“The Bridgerton universe occupies a special space in culture, resonating with young and old alike, creating conversation, starting trends and influencing everything from baby names to weddings,” Rhimes said in a statement at the time. “The shows have also had a seismic impact on the U.K. economy, boosting it by a quarter of a billion pounds over the last five years and supporting thousands of jobs and businesses. It is clear that the business of art and culture can make a huge economic contribution to local communities. I could not be prouder.”

Looking ahead, Quinn hinted that Netflix does plan to release eight seasons to correspond with all the books.
“I know who is scheduled next,” she exclusively told Us Weekly in May 2025. “It could always change, like [the order] has changed in the past.”
The author continued: “My hope is that all the siblings will eventually take the lead because we love them [all]. That was kind of the whole point of the books is that you’ve got these eight separate stories, but they’re all connected.”
Although some fans have expressed frustration with the seasons going out of order from the books, Quinn defended the decision.
“With books or film or television, they have different needs … to make them work well, and they have different strengths,” she explained at the time. “Certain things that work great in the book don’t necessarily work well on television. And so, one of the things about the television show, which they changed up a bit [that] was necessary, was to turn it a little bit more into an ensemble.”
