Natasha Lyonne Breaks Silence After She Was Reportedly Removed From Flight

Natasha Lyonne has broken her silence after she was reportedly escorted off a plane ahead of a flight.

“My heart is with all the unpaid TSA agents at our airports. 💞,” Lyonne, 47, wrote via X on Thursday, April 9. “Sure was looking forward to speaking honestly with @DrewBarrymore yesterday but guess wasn’t in the cards.”

Lyonne was reportedly scheduled to appear on The Drew Barrymore Show on Wednesday, April 8.

“Who owns Page Six/New York Post now again?” the actress quipped.

Page Six previously reported that Lyonne, 47, was sitting in first class on a Tuesday, April 7, red-eye flight from Los Angeles to New York when she failed to respond to multiple flight attendant requests to close her laptop and fasten her seatbelt for takeoff. The actress, who was wearing sunglasses, appeared to be asleep and became startled at one point, telling a flight attendant, “Ah! You scared me!”

While Lyonne’s laptop was reportedly removed from her possession as the plane taxied to the runway, the aircraft later returned to the gate. A Delta staff member subsequently boarded the plane and asked Lyonne, “Ma’am, do you need medical attention? Ma’am, I need you to come off the plane. Do you need help with your belongings?”

An eyewitness — who described Lyonne as “out of it” — claimed that the Poker Face alum asked, “Where are we?” The Delta employee then reportedly told her, “We’re still in L.A. The plane hasn’t gone anywhere. The plane is not going anywhere until you come off it.”

According to Page Six, Lyonne “shushed” the gate agent and rose from her seat to go to the bathroom. Once she emerged from the lavatory, her luggage was removed from the plane, and she deboarded.

“We have a passenger who, for whatever reason … wouldn’t follow some basic commands. … We had a passenger who didn’t seem up to the task tonight, so that’s why they were asked to be booked on another flight — I do apologize for the inconvenience, but we will get you to New York as quickly and as safely as possible,” the plane’s captain reportedly told passengers.

The flight was delayed for more than an hour before taking off without further issues.
