Jess Val Ortiz announced her split from boyfriend Alexei Mitchell with a TikTok video that left fans heartbroken for the influencer.
In the video posted on Wednesday, January 28, Ortiz, 28, began by dancing around her living room while wearing purple sunglasses, a yellow top and sweatpants with the words, “Breaking up on bad terms,” written at the top of the clip.
The scene then suddenly changed to Ortiz curled up on a chair with a hooded sweatshirt over her head and sweatpants on. She held a bottle of wine and looked distraught as the words, “Breaking up on good terms,” went across the screen.
Ortiz’s followers were quick to react to the sad news, hoping it wasn’t true that she and Mitchell had called it quits after less than one year together.

A second fan revealed that when they “searched” for Mitchell’s account “it’s not there anywhere,” hinting he’d gone dark after the split.
Ortiz, meanwhile, further expressed her feelings about the breakup via a second TikTok video shared on Thursday, January 29.
“January has been rough,” she confessed in the video’s caption.

In the clip, Ortiz sat dazed and disengaged wearing a black hooded sweatshirt over her head and black sweatpants. As she sat on the couch, a voiceover said, “Candace, are you still with us?” followed by white noise.
Ortiz added the text, “When you hit day 3 after the breakup,” confirming her split from Mitchell.
“It’s OK girl, my heart is broken right now too but we’ll be alright. Just one step at a time right? there are brighter days ahead but for right now, lets just cry and feel the hurt,” one fan replied back, sending Ortiz well-wishes during her hard time.
Ortiz wrote back in the comments section, “You’re so wise ❤️.”
Ortiz’s split announcement comes less than one year after she debuted her romance with Mitchell to her more than 11 million TikTok followers in February 2025.
At the time, the influencer shared a video where she asked her fans to “follow ✨my new boyfriend✨ on IG @mitchell.alexei 😏.” (The Instagram account is no longer active as of Friday, January 30.)
The pair then gushed about how they met. Mitchell, who speaks fluent Russian, said they crossed paths volunteering at a “homeless shelter for dogs.” Ortiz later confessed, “That is all code for meeting on Hinge.”
The couple was loved up throughout the introduction video, and Mitchell continued to pop up on Ortiz’s social media feeds throughout 2025.

“Guys i got another golden retriever! ❤️,” Ortiz wrote via Instagram in February 2025 while showing off her relationship with Mitchell on Valentine’s Day.
That spring the pair attended the Coachella Music Festival in Indio, California, together, with Ortiz captioning one April 2025 social media upload featuring Mitchell, “Never been happier 🖤.”
Ortiz and Mitchell jetted off to Europe that summer, sharing glimpses at their romance via Instagram.

“Eating for two ❤️🎄,” she captioned the picture, which showed Mitchell holding onto her stomach as if she were pregnant.
The second snap revealed that Ortiz’s belly was full of holiday cookies. The cheeky post marked their last couple photo via Instagram before calling it quits.
