Chilling details regarding the ransom note authorities are investigating in Savannah Guthrie’s mom Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance has been disclosed.
Heith Janke, FBI Phoenix’s special agent, shared the note set a 5 p.m. deadline for Feb. 5 on Thursday during a press conference.
“And if a transfer wasn’t made, the second demand was for next Monday,” he said. “I’m not going to go beyond that.”
Janke emphasized that he wasn’t “going to go into specifics.”
“As with every lead, we are taking it seriously. We are in communication with the family,” he added. “While we advise and recommend, from a law enforcement perspective, any action taken on any ransom is ultimately decided by the family.”
Earlier in the press conference, the officer noted the ransom note mentioned “an Apple Watch” and a “flood light.”
“It’s very important we keep this investigation moving forward.”
Earlier this week, ransom notes demanding millions in Bitcoin were sent to two separate news stations, including TMZ.
The letter reportedly contained a threatening message, reading, “Or else.”
The outlet also confirmed the email address associated with the Bitcoin account was real.
Additionally, the FBI offered a $50,000 reward for information leading to the recovery of Nancy, “or the arrest and conviction of anyone involved in her disappearance.”
The matriarch was reported missing on Sunday at around 11 a.m., after she didn’t show up to church service.
Authorities previously told Page Six that they believe Nancy was “taken from the home against her will, possibly in the middle of the night.”
Blood was found outside of Nancy’s home, and investigators confirmed it belonged to her.
Officers have yet to identify a suspect, but are “actively looking at everyone” as a person of interest.
