Rich Paul gives rare insight into romance with Adele, reveals how they met

Rich Paul revealed he met fiancée Adele “through a friend” in intimate new comments about his romance with the beloved singer.

“I had known her for some time,” the sports agent dished during Tuesday’s episode of Craig Melvin’s “Glass Half Full” podcast.

“You know, just when you’re in these circles, man, you’re in these circles,” he continued. “But I never tried to get fresh with people that’s in comfortable circles because they always have to deal with that, so that was never my thing. It was really something that happened very organically, really.”

Paul, 45, noted that “obviously, you can’t help but to hear the monster hits,” referring to Adele’s ubiquitous tracks.

Still he admitted he hadn’t actively listened to many of her songs — the deeper cuts.

“But obviously, you know, I’m pretty on the pulse of a lot of different things, and so, you know, some of the songs, the big songs, but I didn’t know all of the joints that I know now,” he explained.

When Melvin continued to ask about the relationship, Paul said the pair bumped into each other on occasion, leading to increasing familiarity.

“We’re all in the same vicinity, we’re all in the same circles, and, you know, we’re hanging and whatnot,” he shared. “We just used to always see each other, laugh and joke. It was just cordial, really, just cordial.”

Paul then joked that it remained cordial “until it became not so cordial” and he “became a person of interest” for the Grammy-winning songstress.

He also quipped that he’s “the best singer in the house.”

The power couple sparked romance rumors in 2021, making their public debut at an NBA game that summer. The “Hello” hitmaker confirmed her engagement to the sports agent in August 2024.

Adele — who was previously married to Simon Konecki, with whom she shares son Angelo, 13, from 2018 to 2021 — once told Oprah Winfrey that Paul is “just hilarious.”

“He’s hilarious and very smart,” she gushed in the 2021 interview. “He’s very, very smart. It’s quite incredible watching him do what he does.”

She added that the romance has “been very smooth” and divulged that it was the first time she’s “loved myself and been open to loving and being loved by someone else.”
