New Note Received Demanding Money for Info on Nancy Guthrie Kidnapper

A new note is allegedly demanding payment for information on the person who might be responsible for abducting Savannah Guthrie‘s mom, Nancy Guthrie.

TMZ revealed on Wednesday, February 11, that they allegedly received a note around 5 a.m. PT — but it wasn’t from a possible suspect. The sender claimed they tried to get in touch with Savannah, 54, and her siblings, Annie and Camron, but was unsuccessful.

“If they want the name of the individual involved then I want 1 Bitcoin to the following wallet. Time is more than relevant,” the alleged message read.

TMZ forwarded the note to the FBI. According to the outlet, the Bitcoin address included for payment in the new message is not the same as the one sent in previous ransom notes received by local news stations.

“We received your message and we understand,” she said. “We beg you now to return our mother to us so that we can celebrate with her. This is the only way we will have peace. This is very valuable to us, and we will pay.”

The Guthrie family was reportedly asked to send $6 million in Bitcoin by 5 p.m. MST on Monday, February 9. Hours before the deadline, Savannah issued another statement telling fans her family is desperate for answers.

“We believe that somehow, some way, [Nancy] is feeling these prayers and that God is lifting her even in this moment and in this darkest place,” she said. “We believe our mom is still out there.”

Savannah continued, “We need your help. Law enforcement is working tirelessly around the clock, trying to bring her home, trying to find her. She was taken, and we don’t know where, and we need your help. So, I’m coming on just to ask you, not just for your prayers, but no matter where you are, even if you’re far from Tucson, if you see anything, you hear anything, if there’s anything at all that seems strange to you, that you report to law enforcement.”

Questions still remain after Today show host Savannah Guthrie‘s mother, Nancy Guthrie, was reported missing. The Pima County Sheriff’s Department confirmed the news on February 1, sharing a missing person report via X. Nancy was described as a “vulnerable adult” who was last seen “at her residence” within Arizona’s Catalina Foothills area on the evening […]

One day later, the FBI released the first surveillance photos and video footage of a subject outside of Nancy’s home. The person wore a mask and gloves and attempted to cover the Nest camera with a branch. In one image, the individual appeared to be armed with a gun.

A man named Carlos Palazuelos was later detained and questioned by police on Tuesday, February 10, for his possible connection to the investigation. He was subsequently released and denied having any involvement in Nancy’s disappearance.

“I asked, ‘The kidnapping of who?’ and they told me this lady … I don’t know her name,” he said in an interview on Tuesday. “I told [officers], ‘I work in Tucson for GLS. I might have delivered a package to your house, but I never kidnapped anybody.’”

Savannah, meanwhile, asked her Instagram followers for help in identifying the subject in the surveillance footage.

“Someone out there recognizes this person,” she wrote via Instagram on Tuesday. “We believe she is still out there. Bring her home.”
